Street Fighter (2026) ends with Ken saving Ryu from his dark power after Ryu defeats Akuma. Ken’s Hadouken brings his friend back to normal, but Bison escapes with the beaten Akuma. Ryu and his allies set off after him. The post-credits scene adds another threat as Sagat trains for revenge alongside Bison.

Ryu survives. His friendship with Ken survives too, despite a confession that gives Ken every reason to walk away.

Ken Saves Ryu After The Akuma Fight

Ryu unleashes his dark power because Akuma is too strong for him. As Evil Ryu, he wins the fight and then turns on the people trying to help him. Beating Akuma leaves everyone else in danger.

Chun-Li brings Ken back to the tournament, where both struggle to stop Ryu. Dan Hibiki saves Ken from a devastating attack and joins them. Ken finally produces his own Hadouken, neutralizing Ryu and restoring him to himself.

That is the decisive result of the climax. Ryu can overpower Akuma by surrendering to his worst instincts. He needs his friends to survive what follows. Ken gets the more satisfying victory because he manages to save someone the others can barely hold off.

Ryu’s Confession Changes Ken’s Victory

Before facing Akuma, Ryu admits he destroyed Ken’s invitation to the first tournament. He feared Ken would surpass him. Their estrangement carries an uglier truth than shared grief over their master’s death.

Ryu then knocks Ken out and goes alone. Even after confessing, he still decides for both of them.

Ken has already given up his chance at the tournament title to rescue Ryu, leaving Joe champion by forfeit. Returning to save Ryu again makes that choice harder and more meaningful. He now knows his friend deliberately held him back.

The ending lets Ken prove his ability without taking revenge. Ryu has to live with being saved by the man whose chance he stole. Their eventual reunion feels earned because Ken has a real grievance to put aside.

Bison Escapes With Akuma

Bison withdraws with his troops and the defeated Akuma. Cammy destroys Chun-Liโ€™s car, delaying pursuit and giving him time to escape.

Players who remember Bison from Street Fighter II already know how dangerous he is. Psycho Power is an established part of his identity in the game lore. His interest in other powerful fighters makes Akumaโ€™s capture especially worrying.

Earlier, Bison tries to drain Ryuโ€™s fighting energy. Leaving with Akuma gives him another captive whose strength he has witnessed firsthand. His exact plans remain open, as does Akumaโ€™s fate.

The next day, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Dan join Guile and Dhalsim to hunt Bison. The tournament has brought together the group that can pursue him. A sequel would have somewhere clear to begin.

Sagat’s Post-Credits Scene Sets Up Revenge

Sagat appears with Bison and trains with the scar Ryu left across his chest during their first tournament final. His grievance reaches back to the victory that helped tear Ryu and Ken apart.

Bison now has a fighter with a personal reason to target Ryu. After Ken pulls Ryu back from his own anger, Sagat’s return threatens to drag him into another fight driven by resentment. Ryu ends the film with his friend beside him and an old opponent still furious about losing.
